New England Chapter, ISGB meeting

Sunday, August 18, 2019

1:00 to 4:00 PM

North Shore Glass School

19 Proctor Street, Salem, MA 01970

The summer 2019 Chapter meeting will be held on Sunday, August 18th at North Shore Glass School, 16 Proctor Street, Salem, MA from 1 to 4 PM.  They are a relatively new glass school and are excited at the prospect of having the Chapter meeting there!  Beth Williams has volunteered to give the presentation she gave at the Gathering in Las Vegas in April entitled All of the Colors in the Crayon Box… and Glass!

“We are ALL in love with color...and we want to play with ALL the colors in the crayon box! Beth Williams will demonstrate a ground-breaking process for adding color to glass (using colored pencils) ....and you don’t even have to get hot! Beth will take us through the process of preparing, coloring and sealing the glass, what materials work best and show some examples of finished pieces.”

For those who want to participate, the Chapter will be providing tumbled glass nuggets and colored pencils and we should have a fun and relaxing time.  If you want to bring pieces of glass to color, Beth has suggested that the glass be tumbled (not etched) for best results.  You’re welcome to bring your own colored pencils as well.  Let’s hope for great weather since we’ll be in a coastal locale and some of you may want to take advantage of the many waterfront restaurants in the area for dinner afterwards.  The Chapter will bring some cold drinks and snacks and as always, feel free to bring something to share!
